Group Therapeutic Counselling Programs

We are pleased to be offering an 8-week grief counselling group beginning March 15th 2023. The group will be limited to 10 participants and will be held online during the evening. This is for anyone over the age of 18 who has experienced the loss of a loved one over three months ago and is looking for support in their process of grief and mourning.

In our seniors' psychotherapeutic programs, participants will learn about the basics of mental health, common challenges that arise with age, and will develop tools to navigate these challenges.

The programs aim to reduce the stigma of mental health and provide a homogeneous space for sharing experiences and discovering how best to move forward and enjoy this phase of their lives. 

All services available at our Dartmouth location, virtually or on site.

Concurrent Disorders is a psychoeducational counselling program for persons living with concurrent disorders. The program consists of two groups, one for twelve men and one for twelve women. Each group receives twelve sessions held in a private room at the Alderney Gate Public Library in Dartmouth. The psychoeducational program applies an integrated model of care, addressing both mental health and substance use disorders. It is rooted in anti-oppressive, intersectional, and ecological frameworks.    

This is an 8-week program wherein participants engage in discussions surrounding the impact of retirement and job loss on mental health and life transition. It provides a safe space for individuals with shared experiences to learn and develop skills necessary move forward and adjust to new roles in their lives.
